How ready are B2B teams for AI search?
We're researching how B2B marketing teams approach Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), and how ready their websites are for it.

What is GEO?
GEO means making your company easy for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews to find, understand and recommend. Think of it as SEO for AI answers: instead of ranking in a list of links, the aim is to be mentioned in the answer itself.
B2B buyers now ask AI assistants to explain a category, compare suppliers and draw up a shortlist, often before they visit a single website. If your company isn't in that answer, it may not make the shortlist. GEO covers how you influence the answer, and whether your website can be read by the systems that feed it.
Why we're running this study
The GEO research that exists tends to ask marketing leaders about budgets, priorities and barriers. Much less of it is specifically B2B, and almost none of it looks at how the work actually gets done: who owns it, how content and PR fit together, and whether marketing can even get technical changes made to the website.
So that's what we're asking about. How B2B teams are organised for AI search, what they've actually put in place over the last year, what's making a difference, and what's getting in the way.
The result is a benchmark built for B2B marketers: what the teams making progress do differently, and where most are still stuck.
Who should take part
In-house marketers at B2B companies with 51 or more employees, manager level and above. If that's not you, thank you for the interest, but the study is scoped to keep the data comparable.
What you get
Request an early copy of the report and a personal readiness snapshot: your team's GEO set-up score, broken down by area, and a Technical GEO Checker scan of your homepage. Adding your details is entirely optional, and your company is never named in anything we publish. The snapshot deliberately stops short of how AI assistants actually see your company; that's what Invera's AI-search visibility work measures.
How it works and your data
Step 1, 5 minutes. Answer 25 short questions about how your team is set up. No names asked.
Step 2, optional. Add your details on the final page to request the report and your snapshot.
Questions 1 to 25 are anonymous. We only ask who you are on the final page, and we publish anonymised, aggregated findings only. Personal details are kept for 12 months, then deleted. Read our privacy notice.

About 5 minutes. It is 25 short questions, one per screen, with an optional final page.
Questions 1 to 25 are anonymous. We only ask who you are on the final page, and only if you want your personal readiness snapshot and an early copy of the report. We publish anonymised, aggregated findings only, and your company is never named in anything we publish.
It is our free tool that scans a website's homepage against seven technical checks for AI-search readiness, such as whether AI crawlers can reach and read the page. If you request a snapshot, we run it on your homepage and combine the result with your survey answers.
Your survey answers feed anonymised, aggregated research only. If you give your details on the final page, we use them to send your snapshot and an early copy of the report, and keep them for 12 months. Scanning your website is the same as visiting it in a browser. See our privacy notice for the full detail.
After fieldwork closes. Everyone who requests a snapshot gets an early copy as soon as it is out, and the same link they were sent shows how their team and website compare with the cohort.
They overlap but are not the same. Traditional SEO gets you ranked in a list of links. GEO, sometimes written generative engine optimization in the US, is about being understood and cited inside an AI assistant's answer itself, which depends on different technical and content signals.
